One-on-one, customized learning involving contact and coordination with client's teachers and school staff. This service is available for students in K-12, as well as students specifically preparing for success in college. Subjects include AP courses, as well as general education course
Homework help involves personalized learning for K-12 students, focused on fostering self-sufficiency and increasingly-independent learning habits. Homework help is distinct from tutoring in that it does not involve the tutor working with a student's teachers; however, it is intensive in its approach to supporting students across multiple subjects, as well as helping them to learn how to prioritize and tackle their homework.
Group tutoring involves teaching more than one student at a time in the same subject area. If your child and another child are struggling with the same learning goals, then this could be a more cost-effective service. We are available for K-12 students, as well as students specifically focused on preparing for college-level rigor. Subjects include AP courses, as well as general education courses.
Group homework focuses on fostering self-sufficiency and increasingly-independent learning habits for more than one student. This is distinct from group tutoring in that it can involve simultaneously helping one or more students with sometimes varying homework needs. It remains intensive in its approach to supporting small groups of students across multiple subjects, as well as helping them learn how to prioritize and tackle their homework.
We help students and their families to step off the often wearisome and tedious college admissions wheel by supporting students in creating viable applications that honor their true selves. Often families will enroll their child in one or more services starting in the 9th grade; however, we work with students as early as 8th grade, as well as seniors who need “last-minute” assistance, transfer students and graduate-level clients.
Please see the tab entitled "College Planning" for more details.
We prepare students for the SAT and/or the ACT. We offer a variety of services including helping your child determine which test is most appropriate, completing proctored diagnostic exams to determine learning needs and goals, mastering the material being tested, applying effective test-taking strategies, and executing on test day through the utilization of "soft skills" meant to reduce test-taking anxiety and to enhance focus.
We assist students with each step of the essay-writing process, including that most important first step — before even reading the prompt —identifying the story they want to tell the admissions committees. After working to breathe life and authenticity into a stand-out essay, students and experts collaborate on revisions to ensure essays fit the particulars of each university.
This experience pushes and challenges students. It motivates them while providing the support and scaffolds necessary to bring them into academic and social-emotional success, as well as personal fulfillment.
We work with students to identify behaviors that are hindering their academic success, and then target these behaviors with solution-driven and research-backed strategies. Such behaviors may include procrastinating and missing deadlines, studying extensively yet receiving poor outcomes on exams, remaining focused, balancing multiple obligations, arguing with parents about homework, and feeling unmotivated.
Are you frustrated with what is happening and/or not happening in your child’s classroom? Our founder — a teacher trainer, former classroom teacher, experienced student advocate and mother — will work with your family to help ensure academic and social-emotional outcomes that center your child’s needs and strengths.
We offer remediation courses in reading and writing, as well as courses for those students looking to advance their skills. After students complete an assessment, they receive customized lessons that target their learning needs and goals.
We offer both flexible and intensive course options for English Language Learners [ELLs] whose skills range from elementary to advanced levels. We work with students, of all ages, who seek to enhance their skills in: 1) academics; 2) the business/professional world; 3) everyday interactions; 4) and/or in preparation for taking the TOEFL/IELTS.
Are you homeschooling your child or wanting to start a "learning pod"? We can help with teaching, determining the best curricula, partnering with other educational agencies and more.
